Wednesday Inspiration- Packaging

Pretty Packaging 1

I've done inspiration posts sporadically over the last few weeks. My plan is to do an inspiration post every Wednesday from here on out for however long I can find things that inspire me. :) Today my inspiration is packaging. When I opened my Etsy shop, the first thing I did was research cute packaging ideas. I not only wanted my shop items to be quality, but I also wanted the way I packaged them to reflect my brand... and of course be cute! One of my favorite things about buying stuff off Etsy, is receiving an adorably wrapped package in the mail. So, with that, I leave you with some super cute diy packaging … Read More

Birthday Gift- Rosette Headbands

This weekend I went out of town for my little cousin's 3rd birthday party. I don't have any siblings, so I like to think of my little 2nd cousins as my faux nephews and niece :) The youngest of my little cousins turned 3 last week and we celebrated with family on Saturday. I made this rosette necklace not too long ago. Her mom showed it to her and she thought it was really pretty. She even left me a voicemail telling me how pretty she thought it was :) So for her birthday, I knew I had to make some little something with fabric rosettes. I decided to make some rosette headbands. I got some pastel colored fabric and stretch headbands from a local craft store. I also used some … Read More

Antique Skeleton Key Art

I recently saw these framed antique skeleton keys on Design Sponge. {Source} I love skeleton keys and thought this was a great way to use them for an art piece. So, I decided I would create my own framed skeleton key piece! My bathroom is currently a deep purple color with gold and brown accent colors. I had hung this candle holder on the right side of my mirror when I first moved in because I had it in my previous bathroom. But, since my wall color is already a darker shade, the dark brown candle holder and candle just weren't standing out on that wall like I would have liked it to. I thought this would be the perfect place to add some skeleton key artwork! I scored … Read More

Weekend Plans- Car Shopping

I think it's finally time.... Finally time to sell my current trusty car and look into getting another one. I've had my current car ever since I was 17. She's been with me through high school, college and now in my new life of 'adulthood.' {This is her, well not actually, but this is her twin :) } Nothing major has happened with her {yet}. She's just 11 years old and has over 140K miles. I haven't had to put a ton of money into major repairs up until this point, but I'm afraid major repairs might be right around the corner. So, I think it's time. Time to start prepping her to be sold and start the process of car shopping. I haven't been car shopping since high school … Read More

Tuesday Inspiration- Chalkboards

Sorry for not posting yesterday. Things have been crazy and I'm still trying to catch up from the long 4th of July weekend. This past weekend I went out of town again, this time to Birmingham, AL. As many of you know, Alabama was hit hard by tornadoes this past Spring. Me and a few girls from my community group headed down there to help rebuild some Habitat Homes that were damaged. We did several different things, but the bulk of our time was spent taking up laminate flooring with crowbars and a blow torch. Let's just say I don't ever want to see laminate flooring again.I finally hung my chalkboard and clothespin frame yesterday that I bought back in Knoxville. I've seen lots of … Read More

Rosette Rings

I posted last week the rosette necklace that I made for my Handmade Gift Exchange partner. I'm really into rings right now, so I thought, why not make a rosette ring? Brown, being my favorite color (weird, I know), I got some brown fabric. I also bought a basic silver ring from Michael's to glue my rosette to. I then made my rosette the size I wanted. And then hot glued the rosette to the ring. Super cute and easy :) I'm loving it and want to make some more rings. Have any of you made anything with fabric rosettes? Would love to hear how you used them. I've linked this project up on Whipperberry & Lemon Tree Creations. Be sure and check out all the … Read More

4th of July Weekend- Boston

I spent the long 4th of July weekend in Boston visiting with my old college roommate. I have visited her up in MA once before while still in school, but got to see a different side of Boston than my previous trip. The trip and weather were wonderful. We had no agenda each day and just slept in and played the day by ear. Love being spontaneous! On Friday we took a tour of Fenway. I didn't get to see Fenway the last time I came, so I was excited to see it for the first time. We didn't get to see a game because they were playing away. I saw this Walgreens the last time I was in Boston, but isn't this the coolest Walgreens you've ever seen? On Saturday, we had brunch at … Read More
