October Umba Box

I got back from vacation yesterday. I’m currently having major beach withdrawals but we had a great time. Ate lots of seafood and soaked up lots of sun…maybe a little too much sun, but that’s ok!

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things from being gone and trying to catch up.

I have some projects to show you guys soon, including what I made to hang over my bed and our Fall front porch. But today, I thought I would show you guys what I got in my October Umba Box.

In last month’s Umba Box, I got a cute dish towel and candle. This month’s goodies didn’t disappoint either.

The fabric pouch is actually a re-usable sandwich bag from Forgotten Shanghai. How fun! Forgotten Shanghai also has lots of other cute travel accessories and home decor.

Gem Necklace

Also included in the box, was this gemstone necklace from Hide Your Feathers. Jana has some other incredible jewelry pieces in her Etsy shop you should check out.

If you would like to receive a box full of handmade goodies each month too, you can sign up here.

Sorry for a short and sweet post today. I’ll be back later this week with more fun posts I promise!

Happy Monday!

Birthday Giveaway & Etsy Shop Update

Well friends, today I turn the big 2-6. That’s right, I’m inching closer and closer to 30 ;) {I know all of you reading this right now that are older than me are probably rolling your eyes.}For some reason, turning 25 was hard for me. In some ways, I think I had a mild quarter life crisis. But 26 feels different. I feel like it’s going to be a good year. Fingers crossed!

If any of you have clicked over to my Etsy shop within the last few months, you have probably seen it still on ‘vacation mode.’ No, I haven’t forgotten to turn it off. I got a little overwhelmed with custom orders and wanted to take a break and focus more of my time on my blog and projects. I plan to re-open the shop at some point, but I’m thinking about taking it in a new direction…still trying to figure out what that direction is though, ha!

In the meantime, there’s lots of goodies sitting around. Because it’s my birthday, and because I’m moving and am in the purging mood, I’m offering one lucky reader some free stuff!

The goods::

Etsy-versary:: New Shop Items & Giveaway

This time last year, I decided to spontaneously open my Etsy shop. I had been making cards for people for a little while and really enjoyed giving someone something handmade. Someone suggested I open my own Etsy shop and sell my cards. I decided to just go for it, and I haven’t looked back since! My Etsy shop led me to blogging which has been such a wonderful experience so far. The blogging community is amazing. The people that I’ve ‘met’ so far have been so encouraging. Sometimes putting yourself out there and putting your ideas out there can be scary, but those I’ve encountered in the blogging community have been my biggest cheerleaders whenever I’ve doubted myself.

All of it is a lot more work than I thought, but it’s been so rewarding. I’m excited to see what the next few years hold!

All that to say, since it’s my one year etsy anniversary, I’ve re-vamped the shop and added a lot of fun new items.

Wednesday Inspiration- Packaging

I’ve done inspiration posts sporadically over the last few weeks. My plan is to do an inspiration post every Wednesday from here on out for however long I can find things that inspire me. :)

Today my inspiration is packaging.
When I opened my Etsy shop, the first thing I did was research cute packaging ideas. I not only wanted my shop items to be quality, but I also wanted the way I packaged them to reflect my brand… and of course be cute!
One of my favorite things about buying stuff off Etsy, is receiving an adorably wrapped package in the mail.

So, with that, I leave you with some super cute diy packaging ideas…

I’m hoping to incorporate some of these ideas into my gift wrapping for Christmas…which I’m hoping doesn’t come for a loooong time. This summer girl doesn’t want it to be winter!
