What is my decorating style? As someone who loves decorating and who has a home decor blog, that’s probably something I should be able to articulate. I can walk into any store and tell you right away the things that I love and the things that I don’t. But, how do I describe my taste?
I think I would use words like rustic, vintage, neutral, transitional, and eclectic. But, does that really tell you much?
Have you seen the show Fixer Upper on HGTV? If not, stop, do not pass go, immediately run to your tv and set your dvr to record this show. I’m serious. If you love interior design as much as I do, you will soon be as obsessed as I am.
Every.single.room Joanna Gaines’ designs I absolutely love. Her taste is impeccable and her style is perfectly honed.
She adds charm and character to every home with well worn pieces and rustic touches. And for someone who loooves a neutral color palette, she speaks my language.
When it comes to decorating your home, it’s important to make things feel cohesive. To ensure your home tells a story from the minute someone walks into your door to the very last room they walk into.
The spaces she designs accomplish this effortlessly. Just look at some of my favorite spaces from the past two seasons.
If I were to pull inspiration photos for decorating our house, these would be it, to a tee.
Maybe next time someone asks me what my design style is, I’ll just say ‘Joanna Gaines.’
If you are looking to re-create the look of the spaces she designs, she is coming out with her own furniture line and it looks like it will be available in retailers come January. You better believe I’m gonna hold out on buying some of the furniture pieces in our house to see what she comes up with!
In the meantime, can someone tell me where I can get that card catalog-esque piece from the first photo? I’m gonna need one of those in our entryway, stat!
