Renovation Update:: We Have Cabinets

I’m finally getting into the Christmas spirit. Last night after work I went out and did a little Christmas shopping, and all the Christmas decor and Christmas music playing got me finally excited for this time of year. It also helps that our house now smells like Christmas thanks to a wonderfully winter wall diffuser.

Since my last renovation update, all our cabinets were installed. They still have to come back and finish up a few things and install the rest of the hardware, but it looks so good! Here are a few pictures from each space with the new cabinetry.

Powder Room Cabinet

For our powder room I’ve always loved the idea of turning a dresser or piece of furniture into a vanity. I was a little afraid to go on the hunt to do something like this for the house thinking I would be on a time crunch, so I picked out cabinetry that looked somewhat like a piece of furniture with some fun open shelving underneath.

Doesn’t the dark wood look so pretty against the white wainscoting??

Some of these pictures are terrible, so I apologize in advance. There was still a film on the windows from painting so the lighting was terrible. I’m loving how the wall color looks in here with the all white cabinets.

Laundry Room with Cabinets

And you can see the old window installed. We’ll install trim around it and paint it white so eventually it will look much better than it does right now.

Here’s the other side of the laundry room and all the pretty open shelving. Can’t wait to fill those shelves with fun accessories!

Laundry Upper Cabinets

The kitchen is looking so good! I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out and the cabinets look so good in here. You might notice a small gap in between the cabinets and the soffit but that will eventually be fixed. The big open cabinetry in the center is going to be glass cabinets!

Kitchen Cabinets

Here’s another angle facing the other side of the kitchen. We did order all our appliances during the week of Thanksgiving while they were having Black Friday sales so those will start rolling later this month.

Kitchen Cabinets Side

Here’s a look at our master bathroom. I can’t wait to see this space with all the tile uncovered and grouted.

Quick glimpse into the upstairs guest bathroom. Sorry, terrible lighting again.

Our jack and jill bathroom is looking great too. The little bench seat looks so cute and I can’t wait to make have someone make or buy a fun little window cushion.

Jack and Jill Cabinets

In addition to the cabinets being installed all our interior doors were painted and have since been hung.

Doors Painted

Do you remember the original green french doors that were in the house? We had someone strip all the paint off them and we’re re-using them for the front office. They will be stained, I just need to finalize a stain color.

On the exterior, the entire house {since this picture was taken} has now been primed and will hopefully soon be painted with the final color.

I think we got so used to the brick color that seeing it lighter has been an adjustment. But, I can envision how it’s going to look with bronze colored windows on the front, a dark stained front door and brown shutters and I know it’s going to look so good.

Exterior Primed

I’m hoping this week is the week they are able to install the brick wall back up in our dining room because we’re dying to see how it’s going to look with all the finishes now.

P.S. I intended for the giveaway for this adorable set of coasters to end tonight at midnight but this girl selected the wrong date/time in Rafflecopter. Sorry about that! If you are interested in entering and didn’t get a chance, shoot me an email {meganbrookehandmade{at}gmail{dot}com} and I’ll add your name before selecting a winner.

Thanks so much Taylor! Yes, it can be overwhelming at times but I’ve enjoyed getting to pick out things to personalize our home and make it feel like ‘us’!
