DIY Ring Toss Game {Tailgating Game}

September is here which means it’s officially football season. Whether you care about the sport or have a favorite team, it’s always fun to get together with your friends and family and tailgate before a game. Food tends to be the centerpiece and most important part of a successful tailgate, but you can’t forget about the games.

DIY Ring Toss Game

One of the easiest outdoor games to put together is a diy ring toss game.

All you need are some glass bottles, curtain rings and a vintage crate.

Ring Toss Supplies

You can typically find old vintage bottles at flea markets or antique stores. I found mine at a large antique store in North Carolina called the Old Tobacco Barn. I was lucky enough to find several of the same exact bottle, but it’s ok to use a variety of styles and colors. Just be sure the height for them all is the same {unless you want to have a few taller than the others intentionally}. If you can find new Coke or Pepsi glass bottles, those work well too!

When looking for a crate, look for a crate that has several small compartments like this one to hold the bottles in place. Crates like this can also be found at antique stores and flea markets for pretty cheap.

For the rings, I found these white curtain rod rings at my local Home Depot store. You can use any kind of curtain ring though and spray paint them any color. I specifically wanted mine to be white so these were perfect since they were already the color I wanted!

You can have fun with the rings too if you want by getting a few that are smaller than the others and painting them a unique color that earns more points if they land on a bottle.

You’ll notice that these rings in particular did come with clips attached.

The clips unscrew really easy though and just leave a small hole on one end {that really isn’t noticeable}.

And that’s it! Now you have your very own ring toss game.

This is the perfect game for all ages. Adults all the way down to kids can enjoy and participate.

Yard games are also fun for outdoor weddings. If you are having an outdoor wedding this fall or have access to an outdoor space, a diy ring toss game would be perfect for guests to enjoy during your wedding reception.
