Rustic & Cozy Living Room {Vision Board}

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that we bought some dining chairs and counter stools for our kitchen and dining area. I showed you in my dining room vision board the style of chair I was thinking to pair with the table and our kitchen island. Lucky for me, Restoration Hardware was having a crazy good sale and I was able to score 6 chairs and 3 counter stools for a really great price.

I’m still on the hunt for some upholstered chairs to use at each end of the table. But right now, my focus has shifted to the living room and couch shopping.

The only couches I’ve ever owned were hand me downs and I ended up leaving what was left of them at my previous apartment here in Greenville for the new tenant to use. The hubs had a couch in his old house, but the shape and size were very specific to the floor plan he had so we knew it probably wouldn’t work for a future house and ended up giving it away. And the couch we’re currently using in our rental is a hand me down from his parents.

All that to say, we don’t really have a couch or much living room furniture period to use in our new place.

So I thought it would be fun to put together a little vision board with what I’m thinking for our living room and some of the furniture and accessory ideas I’ve started pulling together.

LIVING ROOM MOOD BOARD

1. Couch // 2. End Table // 3. Coffee Table // 4.  Pillow // 5. Pillow // 6. Arm Chair // 7. Oblong Pillow // 8. Mission Chair // 9. Pillow // 10. Ottoman // 11. Rug // 12. Bookcase

The couch is the actual couch we’re considering purchasing. However, it wouldn’t have a chaise lounge, and would be a dark gray fabric. The bookcase is a piece my husband already has. He had 3 in total, but gave one away. We’re currently using one as a media console and the other is stored downstairs in the basement. Hoping to re-use both of them and either stack them on top of each other or put one underneath each our windows on either side of the fireplace.

The mission chair…yea that’s my husband’s request. He’s always wanted that style chair and since he’s letting me basically decorate however I want, I figured I could at least give that to him.

As with our dining room, I’m going for mainly neutrals and grays for the big pieces, and want to incorporate color with pillows, lamps, and other accessories.

What do you think of the direction?
