July in Review

It’s the last official day of July, so you know what that means? Recap time.

Here’s a little round-up of everything I shared with you guys this past month.

I showed you pictures from the gender neutral gray & white baby shower I threw for a friend and also shared how I made most of the decor using my Silhouette Machine.

I made my own pesto using the basil that I’ve been growing indoors and rounded up 10 yummy pesto recipes to possibly try out with my newly made pesto.

Now that we’re getting close to finalizing a lot of our design selections for the house, it’s time to start thinking about furniture.  I’ve been doing a lot of research on dining room and living room furniture {rooms we don’t really have furniture for at this point}. I pulled together some ideas for our dining room and created this fun little mood board for the rustic chic dining room I would love to have. {P.S. We actually bought this exact table this past weekend so we’re officially one step closer to having a fully furnished dining room!}

I’ve started this new fun series on the blog where I share what’s going on ‘around here’ every month. I love hearing from and getting to know you guys and hopefully this is a great way for you guys to get to know me and get a glimpse of our everyday lives. In this month’s around here post, I shared about the fun 4th of July parade on our new street and my love for bbq chips and ice cream.

I shared with you guys about having to change some of my previous lighting selections and the dilemma I was having with trying to pick out a front porch light. Thanks to your votes, I was able to make a choice and went with the fan favorite {below}.

Trying to keep track of everything with the blog and the renovation with work and life mixed in can be challenging. I shared some of the things that help me to stay organized and avoid things falling through the cracks.

How I Stay Organized

We’re starting to see some good progress being made at the house and I shared some updated progress pictures including all the new windows that were installed and the pretty beadboard underneath the sides of the roof and porch ceilings.
