Final Lighting Selections

On the renovation front, there isn’t a whole lot of progress to report on. They’ve been working on shingling the roof and prepping the side of the house to add the carport. We’re told that in a few weeks we should have our electrical walk thru. So hopefully I’ll have some good updated renovation pictures to share soon.

But, the good news is that progress has been made when it comes to lighting. We finally made our final lighting selections. Most of the rooms were fairly easy for me to pick out, but there were just a few I kept going back and forth on.

Curious what we picked out? Here’s a little breakdown of all the lighting by location/area.

Outside Lighting Selections

1. Ballard Designs // 2. Ballard Designs // 3. Barn Light Electric

I love the look of lanterns, especially on porches, so it was a no-brainer to get outdoor lanterns for our porch and carport. I also love a good barn light and loved these affordable barn outdoor wall sconces from Barn Light Electric {I believe the picture shown is a chocolate finish but we’re actually going with bronze}.

Ceiling Fixtures- Final Lighting Selections

4. Lamps Plus // 5. Pottery Barn // 6. Pottery Barn // 7. Ballard Designs // 8. Joss and Main

Next up, all the ceiling fixtures. For all the ceiling fixtures I wanted to go with a bronze finish. I’m planning to have a lot of neutral bases {like wall colors, cabinetry, etc.} so I wanted to add some warmth and color with the lighting. The master bathroom fixture will hang over the stand alone pedestal tub and we’ll have two of the Pottery Barn pendants for over our island. Noticing the lantern trend?

The dining room fixture was the one I had a tough time deciding on. The dining room is a long/skinny room so I couldn’t decide if I should do something rectangular that fit the room shape or do something more round for contrast. In the end, I decided to get something that mirrored the room’s rectangular shape and went with this rectangular chandelier. Has a hint of a rustic look which I love as well.

Bathroom Sconces Final Lighting Selections

9. Shades of Light // 10. Lamps Plus // 11. Lighting Universe

For all the bathroom sconces I went with a polished chrome or nickel finish. All our plumbing fixtures are polished chrome or nickel so I wanted them to match. I went with sconces that were timeless but still had a little bit of an old/vintage feel.

For the powder room we wanted to get something a little more unique and I fell in love with these clear glass Robert Abbey sconces from Lamps Plus. Love the Edison bulbs too!

We’re re-using 2 ceiling fans for 2 of the upstairs bedrooms, but we’ll need to pick out a few more ceiling fans for the screened-in-porch and third bedroom upstairs {no rush on picking those out, a ceiling fan is a ceiling fan, right?}.

After the electrical walk thru there might be a few more lights we missed that we might need to pick out, but hopefully we’re basically done with this stage.

A big thanks to Lamps Plus for providing us with the master bathroom chandelier and powder room sconces. Can’t wait to share after pictures once they are officially installed in the house! ย If you are on the hunt for some great lighting options, be sure to check out their amazing collection and be sure to check out and follow my lighting board on Pinterest.

Disclosure: Lamps Plus provided me with complimentary light fixtures for review.

Love all of them! I’ve had my eye on the lights you are using for the island for awhile! I plan to use two of the large ones above my dining room. We were just in Greenville this weekend for my niece’s graduation!

Mauldin High School. We are in Atlanta so not too far of a drive. We visit fairly often as we have four nieces there and my three kids love playing with their cousins.

Such an exciting process Megan! I love all of the light fixtures you selected, especially your outdoor lights! I’ve seen a ton of Barn Light Electric’s lights (specifically gooseneck lights) and have fallen in love with them! Another thing to add to the wish list, huh? Can’t wait to see pictures!!

Thanks Samantha! Sadly we are having to look for a different front porch light due to the ceiling height. But I’m excited about the Barn Light Electric wall sconce for our side entrance!
