Around Here

Happy Tuesday friends! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and got  to spend some time with their husbands and fathers on Father’s Day.

June has been a busy {and fun} month so far full of summertime activities and fun trips on the horizon. I did a fun and quirky list several months ago as an update on life and thought it would be fun to do another one today.

Here’s what life has looked like around here lately.

Farmer's Market Cinnamon Roll

Eating: yummy cinnamon rolls from our local farmer’s market. They are from The Great Harvest Bread Co. and they will change your life.

Making: baby shower decor. Among other things there’s been lots of tissue pom pom’ing and silhouette machine cutting.

Cooking: homemade pizza. For some reason I never felt like I could make my own pizza. The store bought freezer kind seemed like the safest bet. But I’ve recently started making my own using Naan bread or Publix pre-made pizza dough and it’s delish! And not hard at all {next on my list is to try and make the pizza dough myself}.

Walking Trails in Greenville

Spending: as much time outside as I can which includes long walks in the park and evenings spent playing pickle ball.

Waiting: for our house to be finished. It seems like it will never be finished, but I know it will be moving day before I know it. I’m trying to enjoy this season of renovating our home, but I’m just ready to be in it.

Reading: The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller. The hubs and I talked about reading this book together when we got engaged but things got busy and we had other material to read for our pre-marital counseling so we’re just now finding the time to read it together.

Barn Sale in Greenville

Stopping: at local barn sales with giant stuffed animals and boxes of corn flakes. While I didn’t score anything for the house, I do see more barn sales in my future.

Loving: the new pair of jeans I just bought for 50% off. Anyone else find the best things when you aren’t looking?

Dreaming: about our upcoming beach vacation and excited to spend a few days relaxing in the sun.

Free Putt Putt in Greenville

Playing: free putt putt in the park. There’s a free little putt putt course in a park down the street from us. My cousin came to town to visit this past weekend and I showed her what free putt putt was all about.

Giving: essential oils a shot. I get motion sick when I travel and get headaches and I’ve heard peppermint oil can ease both. I’ve got a little bottle on the way and I can’t wait to give it a try.

Feeling: motivated. Something about summer gets me all excited and motivated to really tackle and get things done. One of those things is going through and purging lots of stuff this summer before we officially move in a few months.

Falls Park at Reedy River

Enjoying: this pretty view from the park next to where I work. Greenville isn’t short on pretty parks, and this is by far my favorite.

Opening: mail. Getting mail is so fun {I should clarify that getting ‘good’ mail is fun…I could do without the junk advertisements and credit card apps}. But, fun cards and packages make my day.

Looking: for a new mountain town to explore this summer. We’re trying to go through the alphabet and visit towns that start with a new letter. We’ve yet to find a nearby place for E or I. Any suggestions?

SRS Cyling Series

Cheering: the hubs on as he competes in the SRS cyling series. Two races down and three to go, he’s doing amazing thus far. #proudwife

Learning: that in order to make your dreams and goals come true, you sometimes have to put yourself out there. It’s not always easy, but worth it in the end.

Wishing: that it could be ice cream eating, firefly watching and late night walking season year round {aka summer}.

As I mentioned, my cousin came in town this past weekend. I’m trying to convince her to move here so I was showing her everything Greenville has to offer including the beautiful parks, quaint downtown and fun events. We ate til our bellies hurt, walked until our legs hurt and shopped til we dropped. All in all it was a successful weekend.

If you follow me on Instagram you know how much I love my new little city and all the fun things it has to offer. What’s your favorite thing about the city you live in?

Homemade pizza is the best! We used to use the Publix dough but now Kyle makes our own – he said it’s super easy. I’ll have to get the recipe from him and send it over.
