Ways to De-Stress

Life can be stressful. Between work, laundry, dishes, meal preparing, your kid’s school projects and extracurricular activities, there is a lot that demands our time and attention everyday. I think we’ve all wished at one time or another that there was more time in a day.

Typically these extra busy and stressful seasons of life ebb and flow. Some months and years are more taxing than the others. I’m in one of those busy and sometimes stressful seasons of life, otherwise known as wedding planning. Everyday there are emails that need to be sent, items to be purchased and things to finalize in order to keep everything on track and on schedule. And there are also payment deadlines, contract deadlines and timelines to sort through. While I’ve been able to manage everything pretty well and haven’t felt too stressed about anything, there have been times throughout the process that have been a little stressful.

Whether it’s wedding stress or stress related to something else, stress is inevitable. We all manage and relieve stress in different ways. For me, it’s always been helpful to spend a few quiet minutes alone taking deep breaths and doing something I enjoy, to take my mind off of the thing that is making me worry or feel anxious.

So, this past weekend I took a little moment to myself. Between the wedding festivities and errand running, I decided to forget about all the wedding details that still needed to get done and instead spend a few quiet minutes to myself.  I plopped myself out on the screened-in porch one evening with the latest issue of Real Simple and a blue bottle of neuroBLISS.

neuroBLISS is a tropical lychee flavored drink designed to reduce stress and relax the mind. It contains a combination of chamomile, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants including L-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea. With no artificial colors or flavors, the drink was a welcome addition to my little blissful moment of solitude.

With no caffeine, it’s a great alternative to drinking that cup of coffee, tea or soda that you so enjoy that will end up keeping you up all night.

With a relaxed mind and head full of Real Simple inspiration and tips, I was ready to tackle the rest of the day’s festivities.

We all need to take a few moments to ourselves every now and then. And this infographic from neuroBLISS is proof of that.
