Creative Way to Ask Bridesmaids

For my wedding and throughout this whole wedding process, one of the most important things to me is to make things personal. I want to add my own creative spin and personal touch to as much I can. That goes for the wedding details themselves, but also to the things leading up to the wedding.

When it came to asking the girls to be in my bridal party, I didn’t want to just make a phone call. I wanted to make and mail a little something to ask them and let it be a surprise. This past week they all received their little packages so I thought I would share pictures of the creative way I asked my bridesmaids to be in my wedding.

From my past days of running an Etsy store, I had tons of supplies leftover so I figured I would put some of them to good use. One of my friends is an amazing graphic designer, so she helped design the ‘invites.’ We made various ones that asked if they would be my bridesmaid, maid of honor, flower girl and junior bridesmaid.

I just printed them on my own on white cardstock and cut them down to size. I bought a pack of standard white envelopes to package the invites in.

For the front of the envelopes, I thought it would be cute to include their initials. Michael’s had initial stamps for $1 so I snatched up a few of the ones I needed and stamped away.

I had lots of these white kraft envelopes leftover from my Etsy shipping supplies, so I stuffed the invites in the envelopes in those and packaged it all up with some pretty ivory twine.

And they all got put in and sent out in these brown kraft envelopes (also leftover from my Etsy shipping supplies).

So all in all for this little DIY wedding project, I only spent around $10 (if that) for all the supplies. Not too shabby. And I think the girls loved their little mail delivery.

Did you ask your bridal party to be in your wedding in a creative way?
