Downton Abbey Inspiration:: Mary’s Bedroom

Raise your hand if you watch Downton Abbey? I for one, love this show. If you haven’t watched it, I would highly recommend you do.

My boyfriend hadn’t seen it, so I of course roped him into watching it. We’ve been re-watching episodes from season 1 and 2 to get him all caught up before starting the current season.

I am dying to see season 3! I’ve been avoiding all forms of social media on Sunday evenings when I remember to prevent from seeing any spoiler alerts {although I have seen a few and man does it sound like there’s a lot of drama this season}.

Even if you don’t get into the plot of the show, the gorgeous set design is enough to make you tune in.

Today I thought it would be fun to take a look inside Mary’s bedroom and pull together some items to re-create the same look.

Here’s another shot of her room.

Isn’t her room gorgeous? The set design crew did a great job of re-creating the design from that time period I think.

So, have I sold you on Downton yet??

    What is cool is that this show is filmed inside a real Scottish castle, so all the rooms are actually from the castle. Saw a special on it, so set design is really original to the castle from 14th century!

      You are right! I think I saw that somewhere recently. I knew the castle was real but I was thinking they supplemented the rooms with additional decor. Love that it’s all original. :)

    I was wondering if there is a way to purchase the quilt in Mary’s hospital room?
