Happy Wednesday friends! Apologies for not posting on Monday. One of my friends from Nashville came in town to visit this weekend and I was giving her a tour of Greenville and showing her my new digs.
I promise I will be back to posting three times a week soon!
Today I thought I would show you one of the first little projects I worked on for my new place. It’s this little grain sack that I framed and hung on the wall in my kitchen.
Since the grain sack was an old salt bag, I thought it would be cute to incorporate it into the kitchen somehow.
I wanted the grain sack to feel like it was on display. To look like it’s being preserved. So I didn’t want to buy a frame that had any matting. I just wanted to sandwich in between two pieces of glass. I found exactly what I was looking for at Target.
I just placed the grain sack in between the two panes and hung the frame up on the wall.
Now the grain sack feels like it has a story and a history behind it. I think it’s the perfect addition to my cozy new kitchen.
And as you may have noticed, my new place does have wood paneling. I was curious how it would look with all my furniture and decor in it. I knew the place had lots of potential, just a matter of bringing that potential out. I have to say, it’s looking super cozy. Planning to show you pictures of some of the finished rooms later this week.
Wood paneling wouldn’t be my first choice of walls, but I think part of the fun and challenge is taking your circumstances (whether that means you are on a tight budget or the place you are in isn’t necessarily your dream home) and making something beautiful and something you are proud of out of it.
I’m hoping that over the next few months that as I show you some of the projects and decorating I do in my new place, you will feel inspired that you can take anything and make it beautiful and feel like you, regardless of circumstance.
