Around The Blogisphere

This post was supposed to go up on Friday. But, yours truly came down with a nasty stomach bug Thursday night that knocked me out for 24 hours. It was a rough 24 hours but I’m feeling much much better now.

I’ve gotten really far behind on my blog reading, but now that I’m slowly getting into a routine, I’ve had the chance to catch up. Here are a few things around the world wide blogisphere that are currently inspiring me.

For me, 2013 is the start of a new season and a new adventure. I’m excited for the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, experience new things and challenge myself in new ways and continue pushing myself creatively. If you wish to do the same, Whimseybox is currently charging 2013 to be the year of creativity. In order to help make the most of your creativity this year, you can sign up on their blog to receive a spark of inspiration every week. Kinda fun, right?

Layla from The Lettered Cottage was inspired to write handwritten notes to some of her neighbors to brighten their days. I personally love handwritten notes or cards. I think it’s a great way to let someone know you are thinking about them. Definitely need to do more of that this year.

We all have a tendency to apologize for our imperfections. When someone comes over we apologize for how messy our homes are, we apologize for not being good friends and for those that are parents you may apologize for not being the perfect parent. Eventually we start believing the lies we tell about ourselves and don’t give ourselves grace. I love this post from from E, Myself and I about showing ourselves grace and the self-fulfilling prophecy.

I haven’t had a chance to work on a ton of projects for my new place yet. I did get started on a big one this weekend though and can’t wait to show you guys the finished product! One of the projects on my list though is to work on a wreath for my front door. I thought this diy cotton wreath from The Handmade Home is the perfect touch for winter. Might have to make one of these myself!

If you can’t find the exact pillow you are looking for or are on a tight budget, The Nester has an easy solution on how to diy your own pillow cover. A pillow project that doesn’t involve sewing, sign me up!

And lastly, I love this chair transformation project from ReMadeIt. This served as some inspiration for my big project I started this weekend. Love the white paint and antique/distressed look.

Hope you have an inspiring week friends!
