Today is the first day of October. Do you know what that means?
It means Halloween is only 30 days away. But, it also means it’s time to make a new set of monthly goals. But first, let’s see how I did in September.
Number 1 and 2 remain unaccomplished. Part of the reason I haven’t completed #1 is that I’m still trying to figure out a few formatting/CSS issues. Until that happens, this may remain incomplete. But, I’m planning to keep it as a goal until it gets done. Further motivation right?
September was super busy so I didn’t get around to doing some additional fabric browsing/shopping for pillows. I still would like to find some to add some color, but if I didn’t, it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
I finally finished #3. My pallet project is complete and hanging over my bed as we speak. I’ll definitely be sharing pictures soon so stay tuned. I also was able to decorate our mantel for fall. It may have happened at the end of the month, but regardless it happened. Pictures to come later this week.
To be fair, I’m not sure that I completely accomplished #5 and #6 but I consider partial completion, completion. I didn’t have time to make a wreath completely from scratch. But I did embellish a wreath that I bought so I consider that somewhat ‘making.’ As soon as I’m able to go to the pumpkin patch and get a few more pumpkins I’ll be sharing pictures of our front porch and this said wreath. As for reading a new book, I did start reading this book.
I’m halfway through so I consider that an accomplishment. And boy, let me tell you it’s knocking my socks off. Soo good.
And now that brings us to October.
Like I said, I’m leaving #1 and #2 on there for now.
I need to go to the pumpkin patch to complete my fall front porch. Every year I have every intention of carving a pumpkin before Halloween but it just never happens. So this year, it’s going to happen.
A while back I mentioned that I wanted to try and share more personal things with you guys to help you get to know me, the person behind the computer. So that’s why I added #4 to the list, blog about something personal. I haven’t decided what this will be yet, but hopefully it will be somewhat insightful.
Number 5 might be a little ambitious, but I have wanted to paint my end table and coffee table in our living room for a while. I realize I won’t keep these pieces forever, but I have yet to paint a single piece of furniture. Gasp! I know that’s crazy for someone who is all about diy projects and such. So whether they turn out great or not, I’m considering it a good way to get in some practice.
And last but not least, I want to try something new. I’m leaving it open ended. I never want to get into a rut and only do things that I usually do or things that are always comfortable so this is a good challenge for me and probably for all of us.
Here’s to a new month and new goals!
Do you have any goals for this month?
