DIY Fish Scale Art & Pom Pom Set Designs

Happy Monday friends! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! The weather here was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for getting some projects done. I started the process of decorating for fall and hope to have it all finished sometime this week. Stay tuned for pictures.

In the meantime, I wanted to share with you guys some recent sets I did in our video room at work. We have two main walls, a turquoise wall and a ‘purple-ish’ wall. I shared the turquoise set with you guys before with the gallery wall of frames. They asked if we could switch up that wall a bit for a recent video, so here’s what I came up with.

I switched up the accessories on the side table. I bought the gold candelabra and red dish from Target. Sidenote: speaking of Target, have you heard about The Shops at Target this fall. They have taken four small boutiques and are carrying some of their collections in Target stores across the country for a limited time. My favorite is the Curiosity Shoppe. But just trust me, if you haven’t been to Target lately, be sure to go check it out!

I also kept the horse head but added some books that I had at home from my bookshelves.

On the wall, I replaced the gallery wall of frames with some diy fish scale wall art.

I don’t have really have a step by step tutorial on how I made these {failed to take pictures} but Two Thirty-Five Designs has a great tutorial.

I bought the canvases at JoAnns for 40% off. I used gold scrapbook paper and double sided tape to attach the circles to the canvas. You can just trace and cut circles if you prefer, but I also bought a circle puncher to save some time {and save my hands}.

Instead of covering the entire canvas with the fish scale look, I decided to leave a 1/2 inch border all the way around. Pretty easy and I love how they turned out!

I also switched up our ‘purple-ish’ wall. Previously it had our pallet wall art. But I wanted it to be a little more girly and fun this time. I used the tissue paper pom poms from the gold themed set I did not too long ago and attached them to the wall in a checkerboard pattern.

Here’s a sideview as well.

Overall though, I kept this set pretty simple. As soon as the videos are posted that were filmed in front of these sets, I’ll be sure to share them with you guys. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Monday friends!
