I’ve been showing you guys the progress I’ve been making on my room when it comes to decorating. You may be starting to wonder if I’ve touched anything else in the house besides my room at this point?
Well, the answer is yes. I haven’t done all that much, but one thing I’ve finally finished for the most part is our bookshelves in our living room.
Here’s what the room looked like before we moved in.
And here’s what the bookshelves look like now.
I plan to show you guys how I went about styling them in another post and also let you know where I got some of the items I put on the shelves. But for now, I’ll just share some pictures with you {sorry, it’s definitely picture overload}.
We’ll start with the left hand side.
Right hand side.
It took me a while to get them like I wanted. I would put things in places and let it stay that way for a few days before I decided whether I liked it there or not. My roommates would make fun of me because they would come in the room and I would have moved things around again for the 15th time. What can I say, I like to edit/tweak.
I’ll be back later this week with more details on the bookshelves and how they came to be.
As a sidenote, I took all these pictures not only with my new tri-pod but I also took them using full manual mode! I think I’m finally getting the hang of it. Yay!
So what do you think? Are you a tweaker? Do you sit with a decorating decision for a few days before you decide whether you’re happy with it?
Be sure to also check out my post on how I went about styling the shelves here and where I got all the accessories here.

Ohmigoodness! I’m in love with your bookshelves! All those hardbound books are fabulous. Love the colors! And the framed skeleton keys are an amazing touch. Gonna steal that idea
