Antique Store:: Preservation Station

Once I decided I wanted to make my own curtain rod for my room, I went on a hunt to find the perfect knobs to attach to the ends. I looked at a few antique stores in town, but the knobs I found were super expensive. I went ahead and bought some round wood pieces at JoAnns and was going to try and make some faux knobs if it came down to it.

But, I recently heard about this store called Preservation Station here in Nashville. Their website showed that they had quite a selection when it came to knobs, so I figured I would check it out as a last resort. Man, did I hit jackpot!

I took pictures of some of the awesome stuff they had  to show you guys. I apologize though, I had no idea what a gem this place was, so I only had my iPhone to document. So unfortunately the pictures aren’t great.

Preservation StationThey had windows and doors leaning outside so I immediately knew I was going to love this place!

Preservation StationLet me just tell you, I hit the mother load when it comes to knobs.

Preservation StationThis place had a ridiculous selection.

Preservation StationI think I sat and stared at them for a good 20-30 minutes trying to narrow it down.

Preservation StationThey also had a HUGE selection of doors.

Preservation StationThe cool part about this place is that a lot of their pieces are true antiques. Dating back to the 1800s.

Preservation StationI’ve always wanted a clawfoot tub. If you found a cool tub, but were missing the clawfoot legs, they had several in stock which I thought was neat.

Preservation StationThey also had tons of spindles.

Preservation StationAnd some really cool antique light fixtures.

Preservation StationThey also had some molding pieces.

Preservation StationI’m so glad I decided to check this place out! When I was trying to decide on knobs, they were asking me what I was using them for and I told them they were for a curtain rod I was making. I totally assumed they would think I was ludicrous, but they said that someone actually came in and bought 10 or so pairs for the exact same thing. Glad I didn’t sound crazy! 🙂

If you live in the Nashville area or are just passing through, I highly recommend you check this place out.
