Confession:: I’m Not A Perfectionist

I have a confession to make. I’m not a perfectionist. There, I said it.

I lean towards having a Type A personality {although I’m pretty laid back and have a creative side which I feel like not all Type A personalities have}, but I am task oriented, organized and am a huge list maker. See, that’s very Type A right? But, Type A people also tend to be meticulous and lean towards perfectionism. Well, those don’t apply to me, especially the perfectionist part.

Case in point. Remember my gallery wall of frames I blogged about in my room?

And the wood chalkboards I made?

Well, if you were to look closely around and behind them, you would see about a ba-jillion holes in the wall. Let me just show you what I’m talking about.

You may be thinking, why on earth are there so many?

I hate measuring things. Like really hate it. I would much rather eye ball things. I know I know, it takes all of 2 minutes extra to get out a tape measure and make marks, etc. but it just feels too time consuming and tedious for me.

{This is behind one of the frames}

Hence why behind every object I’ve ever hung is at least 2-3 extra holes. My problem is that I eye ball it, and it looks right, but after stepping back I realize it either needs to go up or down a little more. So I take out the nail and just add another hole πŸ™‚

It’s terrible I know!

I had every intention of trying to patch the holes that are visible around my frames, but it just seemed like a lot of work to have to fill in the holes, sand and paint over. Plus I was afraid the paint wouldn’t dry evenly and it would make the spots even more noticeable.

So, I may or may not just leave it as is. Feel free to judge away πŸ™‚

Does anyone else hate measuring as much as I do? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has multiple holes in their walls.

      The 3M picture hanging strips are great! I should use those instead in the future!

      One day I’ll decide to get out a tape measure and do it right for once πŸ™‚
