I have another finished project from my room to show you guys today.
I was needing something to put on the other side of my antique door along one of the walls. I loved how the gallery wall of frames set turned out at work and thought I would do that again, but change it up a bit.
Here’s what I ended up with.
I started out by going to Goodwill to get a bunch of frames in different sizes. One thing to know about me is that I have a tendency to wing it with projects sometimes. Instead of measuring the wall and laying out in my mind how I envisioned it looking, I just went on the hunt for a variety of sizes and shapes of frames and planned to put it all together once I had everything.
But, because of this method, I actually didn’t end up using one of these frames. I couldn’t make it look right with the sizes and quantity I had gotten. Instead I added two frames to the mix that I already had.
I left two of the frames as they were, off white. Spray painted the two frames I already had white, and then spray painted the oval and the larger square shaped frame this fun teal like color called ‘Catalina Mist.’
But, my favorite part of this gallery wall is the gorgeous little antique mirror I also found at Goodwill.
I loved the shape of it, but didn’t love the shiny brass. I knew that could easily be fixed, but I’ve also been wanting to glaze something and this mirror had all these tiny crevices and I thought this would be the perfect project to try it out for the first time!
Here’s what it looked like before and then after spray painted white with glaze just to give you the full transformation.
The mirror looked pretty just painted white, but I think the glaze makes it even better.
I used the Martha Stewart crafts glaze. It’s great because it’s tintable. You just pick out the color of paint you want the glaze to be and mix it in with the glaze.
I brushed the glaze on with a paint brush in all the tiny crevices.
Then wiped off the the excess with a cloth.
There’s no need to be precise with this. I just painted on a whole bunch and then wiped off here and there.
Here’s a look at just the mirror up on the wall.
Here’s the close-up shot that I showed you guys last week in my sneak peek post.
I love how it turned out and I think ‘Catalina Mist’ was the perfect color to add to the mix.
So, what do you think??
I’m still trying to decide what other colors to add to my room. I’ve got a little something else in my room that has the teal/blue color in it. But I’m trying to figure out what else will look good in the mix. I think I’ve decided I want to add a few more pillows to my bed that have some color that will tie everything in the room together.
Anyone have any suggestions on what additional colors might look good with this color scheme??

Yay! Thanks Gail
I just love everything about this wall and the chippy door. And glazing the mirror frame was the perfect choice. And the colors feel so romantic and soothing. I think I may have a new favorite spray paint color …. Catalina Mist …
