I work at a music company here in Nashville. With my job, I occasionally get to do a little set designing. Last week one of our artists came to the office to play and perform some of their music from their upcoming project to our staff.
We have a large room where these type showcases take place, but when it comes to decor, it’s pretty bare. That’s where some set designing comes into place.
We wanted to create two different sets on stage. One side being for interview and the other for performance.
I don’t have a before picture of the stage, other than this ‘in progress’ photo.
I apologize in advance, these pictures aren’t great, I forgot my camera so these were just taken with my iPhone. Here’s a shot of the full stage.
Here’s a close up of the right side of the stage that was set up for Q&A.; I found a lot of random frames at Goodwill and spray painted them white and off white and hung some of them from a shutter divider with jute string.
I hung mason jars on the left side of the stage also with jute string and placed votives inside (we aren’t allowed to have real candles, so these were the fake battery operated blinking ones).
We also brought down some furniture to put at the front of the room for people to sit on and styled the side table and coffee table with some old books, vintage items, etc.
I also organized a dessert table outside the room for people to pick up some treats on the way into the event. We got cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection, which by the way if you live in the Nashville area, I would highly recommend them. They were delicious and very reasonably priced.
I’ll be posting next week about a lot of the decor and details.
I also made some lemonade and got some mason jars to use as glasses to make it a little more fun.
So what do you think?I’m also working on a few set designs for our video room at work. Can’t wait to show you guys!
